Part 1: What Is Content Marketing?

Content marketing is the act of consistently providing useful, relevant information to help prospects and customers make the right decisions.

Content marketing is what we all do everyday on the sales floor and telephone. But, now, we do it in our blogs, emails, websites, SlideShare presentations, and social media like Facebook and LinkedIn.

Information as a strategic tool

Our goals are to use information as a strategic tool to differentiate ourselves from our competition.

Content marketing's goal isn't just to make a sale. It's to build loyal, lasting relationships with customers, clients, and our distribution channels.

In contrast to "marketing as manipulation," content marketing's success is based on the quality of the information we provide and the consistency with which we deliver it.
