How to get started writing a book that transforms your career
The initial steps you take in your journey to writing a book will play a major role in your publishing success Publishing success requires more than just writing a book. Success is a matter of writing the right book, making the right publishing decisions, and establishing an online presence as soon as possible. Publishing success also involves viewing your book in the context of your total career, in particular, the benefits and revenues you will generate based on the credibility and visibility your book offers. Finally, writing a book is also a matter of cultivating the right attitudes and working environment. Here are the first 3 steps I recommend you take:
- Create a Published & Profitable binder. This will give you a place to store everything associated with this website.
- Next, download my Published & Profitable e-book and my Proposal Writing Handbook. Print and save them in your binder. These provide you with an overview of the publishing process that you can refer to off-line.
- Next, I suggest you read the article, Cultivating the 7 Habits of Successful Authors.
Time permitting, I also encourage to read my review of Jack Canfield's, Mark Victor Hansen's, and Les Hewitt's The Power of Focus which includes a downloadable mind map of the book's contents. A final "habit" article you might enjoy is my review and mind map of John Maxwell's Make Today Count, a slim book that influenced me quite a bit. Moving on with your explorations As your explore, take notes. If questions occur to you, post them to the discussion forum. Soon, you, too, will be Published & Profitable!
